APC North-West Crisis Deepens; Zonal Women Leader Calls For VC Resignation

The All Progressives Congress, APC, North-West zonal women leader, Hajiya Aisha Kaita, has called for immediate resignation of the zone’s Vice Chairman, Inuwa Abdulkadir, over alleged misappropriation of 21 million naira and violation of the party’s constitutional provisions.

Addressing a news conference in Kaduna, Hajiya Kaita also accused the North-West zonal Vice Chairman of half-heartedness and partisan attitude in resolving the Kano and Kaduna states’ APC crisis.

The APC zonal women leader revealed that Inuwa Abdulkadir is working against President Muhammadu Buhari, and sabotaging the party for Sokoto state Governor Aminu Tambuwal’s presidential ambition far ahead of 2019 polls.

While stressing that she has enough documentary evidence of financial undercover dealings of APC North-West zonal Vice Chairman, Hajiya Kaita said she is now ready to tender the evidence before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, or any anti-graft agency as well as investigative panel, if called upon to do so.

Hajiya Kaita slso explained that Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State and former governor of Kano, Sen Rabiu Kwankwaso, have no hands in her campaign against zonal Vice Chairman, Inuwa Abdulkadir, adding that the fundamental issues she raised should be investigated thoroughly to salvage the party from the imminent crisis, which the zonal Vice Chairman is throwing the APC into.

Her words: “After carefully reading and digesting the zonal Vice Chairman’s vain attempt to rebut the above stated issues raised in my first press conference, I once again feel indulged to call for this conference, in order to set the records straight and redirect this whole matter to be focused on the allegations against the person of the zonal Vice Chairman, Alhaji Inuwa Abdulkadir, which are not based on hearsay but facts.

“Now, let me put it on record that, the issues I raised against him are not controversy between myself and the zonal Vice Chairman; these are issues that are fundamental to the growth of internal democracy of our party as they bother on total disregard for the provisions of the constitution of our party and misappropriation of the finances of the zonal office.”

Hajiya Kaita stressed: “On the issue of financial misappropriation, which I leveled against Inuwa Abdulkadir, let me state unequivocally that, I have documentary evidence that will substantiate my allegation, indicating that the zonal Vice Chairman did receive the sum of twenty-one million naira from the national secretariat; and I am ready to tender these evidences before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, or any anti-craft agency or investigative panel, if called upon to do so.

“Furthermore, there are three vehicles donated to the zone by the Presidential Campaign Council; two out of these three cars provided for the use of the zonal office have been converted for the zonal Vice Chairman’s personal use, along with his family,” she said.

APC zonal women leader maintained, thus: “Let me also state that the zonal Vice Chairman should have concentrated and direct his responses to the raised issues without dragging the names of Governor Nasir El-Rufai and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso into the mess he is making of our party within the Zone, and stop blaming our leaders for his flaws. Governor El-Rufai and Senator Kwankwaso have no hands in what I am telling the world about the zonal Vice Chairman.

“My thought was that, Alhaji Inuwa Abdulkadir will use the opportunity to dissuade our thoughts of his involvement in the party crisis in Kaduna and Kano states; but to my dismay, he has chosen to even cause further fracas within the zone by insinuating that the ambitions of two of our leaders are the reason behind the crisis in the two states.

“This further buttresses my assertions that the zonal Vice Chairman is responsible for fueling the crisis. And, since he has chosen to smear the image of two leaders of the party by insinuating that these respected leaders drafted me to take him on, can we then deduce that Inuwa Abdulkadir is also doing the bidding of his paymaster – Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto – who sees any politician with capacity and potentials as a threat to his own presidential ambition in 2019 and considers them as foes and also sees Mr President as such, because to him President Buhari is occupying his rightful position?”

She added: “Additionally, I cannot fathom why the Zonal Vice chairman is afraid to call an exco meeting, even once, to enable the party and the zone make progress. The party has by this conduct been rendered ineffective and dormant. This smacks of leadership incompetence on the part of the Vice Chairman, and also amounts to deliberate sabotage of the progress of the party; and this is not acceptable.

“Accordingly, while we await the intervention of the national leadership of the party on these raised allegations, I make bold to invite members of the press to use their investigative journalistic skills to verify my allegations and expose the zonal Vice Chairman’s financial under-dealings as well as his total disregard for the rules and regulations of our party; as it is only by doing so that we shall get to the root of the matter and then, hopefully, resolve the imminent crisis that the actions of one man are throwing the North-West zonal office of our party into.

“Based on all the issues I raised, I am calling on our zonal Vice Chairman, Alhaji Inuwa Abdulkadir, to immediately resign from Acting Chairman to run the affairs of the party in the zone,” Hajiya Kaita declared.
