Kaduna State House of Wednesday reacted to alleged plots to impeach Governor Nasir El-Rufai from office.
The House Wednesday received a report from chairman house committee on information, Nuhu Mathew, of message circulating in a social media of alleged meeting of some members of the state House of Assembly with plans to impeach Mallam El-Rufai.
“The message is to the effect that some members of Kaduna state House of Assembly met over the weekend on the possible impeachment of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai over what the lawmakers termed as ‘impeachable offences,’ ” he said.
According to Mathew, the social media, “Universal Reports Net,” used WhatsApp to spread the message, which he described as false, malicious and mischievous, fabricated with lies and intention to cause disaffection between the House, its members, the governor and the general public.
The House leadership unanimously dissociated itself, in all ramifications, from the report, and warned perpetrators to desist from further act(s) of the nature or encounter the wrath of the law.
