New Nigeria Development Company, NNDC, yesterday, Wednesday donated a live cow to the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Kaduna State Council.
Speaking to journalists shortly after handing over the cow to the Council chairman, Comrade Adamu Yusuf, at the Council Secretariat, the Manager Corporate Relations, Muhammed Abdullahi, explained that the gesture was part of the company’s “social corporate responsibility” to always give back to the society, especially at this season of festivity.
While speaking, Muhammed said: “this is not the first of its kind, and the organization will not relent in its effort in that regard.”
Responding, the chairman of the Council, Comrade Adamu Yusuf, reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Union of Journalists to continue in partnering with the NNDC.
Comrade Yusuf said, “We are very grateful to NNDC for this gesture. This has been happening before I became chairman of this Union, and it’s still happening during my time; this shows that NNDC is so serious about its Corporate Social Responsibility.” He added that NNDC has also built a kitchen for the Union in the past, which is yet to be commissioned. While thanking the NNDC team, he said, “this is a good partnership.”
