Fire guts down four houses in Bauchi

Four houses belonging to PDP chieftains in Bauchi State were Friday night burnt down in various locations within the metropolis by arsonists.

Our correspondent, who visited one of the victim’s resident, Aladin Sani Muhammad, who is former PDP North East publicity secretary, discovered that properties worth millions of naira were lost to the inferno.

Speaking to newsmen in Bauchi on Wednesday, he said the arsonists set the house ablaze at about 11:30 pm Friday, and took to their heels, until hundreds youths come their rescue.

Other victims, whose properties were set ablaze, are former Personal Assistance to former Governor of Bauchi State and secretary to the state government under Governor Yuguda, and Alhaji Sule Milo at Turn Salmanu Quarters.

It was also gathered that, former Permanent Secretary to Governor Yuguda on security, Alhaji Abdullah Ireland’s poultry farm suffered similar fire destructions.

Rumours have it that the incident may not be unconnected with 2019 politics, but this could not be verified at the time of filling this report.

Police Public Relation spokesman, DSP Kamal Datti, confirmed the incident, saying, report indicates that it was fire incident.

He however debunked any insinuation that the fire outbreak has a political colouration, and urged people to be watchful at all times.
